Description
Gold Hill, Colorado is a tiny mountain town due west of Boulder. Originally a mining camp, it is the location where the Colorado Gold Rush began in 1859. The town sits at an altitude of 8300 feet and is accessible from both Sunshine Canyon and Lefthand Canyon. A 2010 census count showed Gold Hill had 230 residents.
Along the dirt roads of the town there are many historical properties as well as old vehicles and pieces of large equipment. This vintage fire truck is one of many such relics on display.
Gold Hill Fire Truck took third place in the FAA contest "RUSTY JEWELS-VEHICLES ONLY GROUP LOGO FOR JANUARY" - January 1, 2020
