Description
I took an alternate route to Estes Park while driving from Broomfield, Colorado yesterday. Instead of staying on highway 36 from the town of Lyons I took the longer route of Highway 7 which runs through Allenspark alongside the South Saint Vrain Creek.
The creek was fairly full from the early spring runoff and the whole route was a glorious change of pace. As I climbed higher the little patches of snow became more prevalent. It was so worth the extra travel time! I will definitely do it again. This photograph was digitally edited to create this painterly look.
