In hopes of getting a beautiful desert sunset shot on my recent trip to Scottsdale, Arizona I headed to the desert on this, my first evening with clouds in the sky. Well it seems it is always feast or famine, and this time there were a few too many clouds which, pretty much blocked the sun from getting through. Nevertheless I love the effect achieved in this cloudy desert landscape.
The photograph was taken just outside the White Tank Mountain Regional Park in the town of Waddell, Arizona which is a far west suburb of Phoenix. Here the giant Saguaro cacti rule the landscape, standing guard over the sagebrush, ocotillo, and desert creatures.
For the desert lover, this image looks great as a framed print, cell phone cover, shower curtain, or towel.
