Description
I found this photograph in my 2016 archives and am afraid I can't remember where I took it, though there's a very good chance it was at the Hamilton Gardens at Lake Chatuge near Murphy, North Carolina. I believe it is clematis, but it also looks quite a lot like peonies, so I am not sure of that either. (I just got word from a well-informed friend that it is a camellia.) I just know they are another of God's wonderful gifts to us and I love them! I digitally enhanced this image to look like a painting.

This is a camellia, which blooms either in late fall or late winter depending on type. Looks a lot like some I have. Nice catch, Lorrie!
