Description
This very beautiful and often photographed stone church sits on highway 7, also known through the mountains as the "Peak-To-Peak Highway". It is located in Allenspark, Colorado just a short distance from Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.
The Chapel On The Rock, officially, Saint Catherine of Siena Chapel is located on the grounds of the Saint Malo Retreat, Conference, and Spiritual Center of the Catholic Archdiocese of Denver. During the 2013 flood and rockslides, the chapel, which was blessed by the Pope in 1993, survived, but there was much damage done to the surrounding area, and restoration work is still underway to this day.
"Chapel On The Rock" took second place in the FAA contest: YOUR FAVORITE HOUSE OF WORSHIP
