Description
As a student at The University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado I always admired this old bridge and the feeling of tranquility it evoked. I have been wanting to revisit it with my camera, and finally got the chance this May. It was even more beautiful than I remembered it. Notice the two ducks swimming peacefully through the left bridge opening, and the small orange spot visible under the right arch is a koi fish.
The first building of the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado (known as "Old Main") was constructed in 1876. Over the next 30 years many more buildings were added. The uniformity of the architecture throughout the campus is one of its most impressive features. Constructed in a Tuscan vernacular style, CU has been ranked the fourth most beautiful campus in the country (according to Thomas Gaines, The Campus as a Work of Art, 1991).
