This is "Old Main" - the first building to be built at the University Of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado. This is my alma mater, and I honor the university where I spent 4 of the most important years of my life.
Old Main was the first building on campus. Construction was completed on April 18, 1876 -
a few months before Colorado became a state. Classes began in the fall of 1877. Most subsequent buildings at CU are unified through an Italian Renaissance architectural style. When Old Main was built, there were no buildings or trees nearby—only grasses and cacti.
