Description
I was being escorted around some of the more interesting scenery around Murphy, North Carolina by two new friends I met while attending Debra & Dave Vanderlaan's Fun Photo Shoot in October, 2016. The lady driving is a mountain real estate agent in Murphy and, as such, was very familiar with seemingly every nook and cranny within a 50 mile radius of Murphy.
Suzi had sold property many years before in the area where this photograph was taken and wanted to show me this special secluded spot. The deeper we drove along this dirt road to our destination through Cherokee Indian tribal land, the more overgrown the road became, until we were scraping the sides of Suzi's SUV on the dense underbrush.
When Suzi found the trail that led to this view of the Hanging Dog Creek it was largely overgrown. She decided it was worth whatever it took to get me and her other passenger down to the creek, so she recreated the trail by plowing through it with her very old yet trusty SUV. When we arrived we all knew it was definitely worth the effort to get there!
