Description
The Stanley Mine in Idaho Springs was the largest underground mining operation in the area during the Colorado gold rush days. In addition to gold, copper, lead, and zinc were also mined at this facility. Visible from Interstate 70, the mine called me to exit the highway and take a closer look.
