Description
I had never seen the Mountain Laurel flowers before this trip to North Carolina and Tennessee. While hiking to Benton Falls in the Cherokee National Forest in Tennessee I had my first encounter with this beautiful flower. The buds look to me like they belong on someone's birthday cake - like they were squirted out of an icing dispenser.
