Description
Completed in 1884, the Georgetown Loop Railroad, Georgetown, Colorado was one of the first visitor attractions in Colorado. Constructed to support both the gold rush and the silver boom, the narrow gauge train, rolling along 3 feet wide rails, runs between the former mining towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume. The line was dismantled in 1939 but restored in the 1980s as a tourist attraction. Please check out the other images of this magnificent railroad in my gallery.
