The Flatirons are rock formations that overlook the city of Boulder, Colorado from the east side of Green Mountain. There are 5 flatirons, so named because they resemble the flat side of an iron used to press clothes. This photograph was taken from a few miles away looking up from the south of Green Mountain, which is the right of the two mountains seen here. This photograph was digitally enhanced to create this painterly effect.
